We grow up in our communities and we accustom ourselves to the normalcies of everyday life. Things are the way they are and we don’t think much more about it, but life changes, and women have goals. We grow up being told that we are capable of anything and we can be whatever we want to be, but soon the narrative seems to shift. Soon we start finding ourselves chipping little pieces away because of the new mold we must fit. There are “lanes” we must stay in so we don’t step on toes, and even if we are expert in our field, we have to know which battles to fight.
